If you are creating a game or activity where there are multiple drop zones associated with correct answers, you may encounter some odd behavior if your drop zones and draggable items are not formatted correctly.

In this article, we will illustrate how to correctly format drop zones by creating a simple number line activity that requires the student to place 3 numbers on a number line. Our goal is to make sure that the card will only be marked as correct if all of the numbers are in the correct spaces.

Here is our starting point. I have used a simple number line image uploaded from my computer and placed 3 text boxes into the Deck to hold my answers. I will use the numbers 3, 6, and 9.

First, add all your planned drop zones (include all correct answer and incorrect answer zones). In the example, I have added a drop zone to every notch on the number line.

To link a draggable object and a drop zone, click and drag the hand icon of the draggable element to the flag icon of your desired drop zone. This will become the only "correct" drag and drop combination for that object.

The other drop zones which are not wired will automatically be scored as incorrect answers for that draggable item. Do not mark any of the drop zones as correct or incorrect or your deck will not let students progress correctly. Your drop zone's properties should look something like this:

Let's test this deck in the preview. We will drag each of the numbers to their correct location on the number line. Then, we will press the "submit" button. The Deck Player marks our drop zones as correct and proceeds to the next card.

If we drag any of the numbers to then incorrect space on the number line, the drop zone with the incorrect answer is marked in red. In the example below, I dragged the number "3" to the space where "6" would be and vice versa. Number "9" is marked as correct and the system waits for "3" and "6" to be moved to the correct space before proceeding.

The empty drop zones are marked in blue.
